Quetzal

Esta semana, uma foto de Juan Carlos Vindas, publicada originalmente no site da National Geographic. O fotógrafo explica como obteve a fotografia, num dos parques naturais da Costa Rica: «I got up the morning I made this image. I have seen these birds flying to catch fruit from a local tree but the light was not the best. The next morning I drove to the same area but the birds where perching very high in the branches. Suddently, this male quetzal flew to this epiphyte-rich branch and started to preen itself while keeping an eye on me. The light levels were very low as it was still early in that cold morning, eventually it started to rain and the bird flew away.»
